Sundays in Rincón are for celebration, when locals and visitors alike come together to enjoy music, dancing, and the island’s warm hospitality. If you really want to embrace the local culture, be sure to hit the weekly Art Walk on Thursday evenings in the town plaza or the bustling farmers market on Sunday mornings. With easy access to nearby gems like Gozalandia Waterfall, La Parguera Bioluminescent Bay, and pristine swimming beaches like Crash Boat in Aguadilla, Rincón is the perfect place to relax, explore, and truly slow down.

The Travel Edit

    • Gyrlo - Mediterranean restaurant with live music located in the heart of Rincon Plaza. Always busy and walk-in only so come early or be prepared to wait for a table.

    • Bakku Japanese Eatery & Crudo Bar - Amazing Asian fusion restaurant - hidden away in a strip mall offering a wide selection of tropical-infused sushi, sashimi, cocktails, and sake. Get here early as they don’t take reservations and the restaurant is always busy.

    • Reina Mora - Located in nearby Aguada, offers a weekly rotating tasting menu that highlights seasonal and local produce sourced at the farmer’s market. Run by a husband and wife duo out of the first floor of their home, Alex is a Michelin-trained chef and Sarah runs the front-of-house.

    • Mi Familias Pizzería - Casual pizzeria and outdoor sports bar that is very family-friendly. They have a wood-fired oven and lots of TVs throughout the space that broadcast US games.

    • La Copa Llena - Oceanfront dining located right at Marina Beach. They serve a variety of tapas and other Spanish dishes with an emphasis on fresh seafood. Pro tip: order a martini from the bar during happy hour and enjoy it on the beach while the sun sets!

    • Vacas Gauchas - Locally owned steakhouse hidden off the road with an incredible selection of meat and wine. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating, as well as seats at the bar. This is a great spot for date night or a group dinner with friends.

    • Casa Islena - Hotel and restaurant at Sandy Beach with a private pool and rotating roster of live music. Apart from the delicious food, it’s a great spot to work remote and/or grab a roadie to enjoy on the beach.

    • Jack’s Shack - Beachside cafe serving tacos, burritos, and more in an open air setting. Don’t miss their fresh-squeezed tropical juice!

    • La Cafetera - Located amongst a number of other food trucks near Lala Beach, they serve delicious coffee and burritos with a small but charming patio area to relax and enjoy your food.

    • Rancho Carbon Express - Curbside, open-air restaurant serving to go-plates of the most delicious rotisserie chicken alongside a number of traditional Puerto Rican sides including rice, beans, plantains and more.

    • ​​Tinto Wine Shop - Amazing wine shop at the top of Rincon Plaza. They offer happy hour where you can sip on a bottle of wine with a freshly made charcuterie board.

    • La Estacion - The oldest bar in Rincon Plaza, very divey and always busy with a live DJ on Thursdays. A great place to go dancing with friends.

    • Abajo - Tiny bar serving up craft cocktails that you can take to-go during Art Walk. Very hole-in-the wall so look for the red light. Cash only, often serving up late-night dumplings.

    • El Ancla - Beach bar located right on Marina Beach. Great spot to hang and day drink on a Sunday. Oftentimes there is a DJ where you can dance on the sand.

    • Caddy’s Calypso - Multi-level beach bar located directly on Maria’s Beach. Have a drink and watch the surfers during sunset.

    • Ola Sunset Cafe - Domes Beach lighthouse bar. Catch the sunset and sip on cocktails served in a quart container (I love the mojito)!

    • Casa Verde - Located in Puntas a short walk from Sandy Beach; restaurant during the day, dive bar with live music at night.

    • Isla Made - Cute business doubling as a cafe and local goods shop. Amazing place to source one-of-a-kind items and gifts from Puerto Rican artisans around the island. If you need a caffeine boost, I love their matcha latte with homemade vanilla syrup.

    • Coconut Club - Trendy womenswear shop at the top of Rincon Plaza selling clothes, bikinis, jewelry, and more.

    • Playero - Surf shop with a selection of beachwear, swimwear, activewear, and accessories.

    • Karibe Kombucha - Local, family-owned kombucha brewery located next to the post office serving a variety of delicious beverages as well as merch, pre-made sauces, and other healthy offerings.

    • Wild Culture Mushrooms - The first and only medicinal mushroom farm and market in Puerto Rico; sells a variety of specialty mushrooms along with a cafe that serves adaptogenic beverages.

    • Beach Barre PR - Located in Puntas, offers a variety of outdoor fitness classes.

    • Barefoot Yoga - Beachside group yoga classes (private offerings also available).

    • Centro La Paz - Studio offers yoga, pilates, massage therapy, skin treatments, and more.

    • CrossFit Rincon - Popular CrossFit gym conveniently located downtown.

    • Centro Bohiti - Beautiful wellness studio on a farm in Moca specializing in acupuncture.
